Trip to Yumthang Valley, Lachung:
The traveler should plan a visit to Yumthang Valley, Lachung, and Zero Point in north Sikkim if they're visiting Sikkim and think you're not going to do it again in a long time to come. What's the reason? Because you may not see anywhere else such astonishing views of Snow Mountains and rivers.
In his' Journal' of 1856, Dr. Hooker reported that Lachung and Yumthang are the two most scenic places in Sikkim and even compared them with Switzerland's. Visit Yumthang Valley is a must inclusion in your Sikkim Tour Package. You may plan a Himachal tour to explore similar Valley of Flower Trips.
Bhim Nala ( Amitabh Bachan Water falls}: About 12 KM ahead of Changthang and towards Lachung (40 minutes Road Drive) you will come across a wonderful waterfall along the way known as Bhim Nala (also known as Amitabh Bachchan Waterfalls because a scene of the film 'Ankhen' was filmed here).
Take a stop here for 15 minutes and enjoy the beautiful view of the fall roaring down from high above and splashing into the ground near you. The sound of the overflowing water can be heard from far and the water is indeed cold.

The name Yumthang Valley means' Flowers Valley.' Now you know what to look forward to. But if it said' Rhododendron Valley, the name would have been more suitable. Because this is the start of the tree line.
Zero Point: The Zero Point (also known as Yumesamdong) is a little uphill up to and about 23 KM from Yumthang at an altitude of more than 15,000 ft. It takes an extra 1.6 hours by SUV from Yumthang (about 3 to 3.5 hours from Lachung).
This is where the civil road comes to an end and you can't drive any further, hence the Zero Point name. A short distance away from here is the border with China, and shortly after Zero Point, Travellers are not allowed to go any further.
Planning your tour to Lachung and on to Yumthang Valley and Zero Point. The traveler needs a 2 Night stay in Lachung for you to return to Gangtok city.
So, what are you waiting for at Zero Point? The road is zigzag, beautiful but pretty slippery, but the rewards are fantastic. Zero Point or Yume Samdong is where three rivers meet the surrounding snow-clad peaks and offer attractive views of the scenery. Zero Point must be a part of the Sikkim tour itinerary.
Zero Point is covered with snow for most of the year. So, if you wish to see and enjoy the snow, then go to Zero Point and you're not going to be disillusioned. There are also hot springs on the river called Cebu chhu in Yume Samdong.
Also located here is the Donkin-La pass (at an altitude of 18,400 ft linking Lachung Valley with Lachen Valley). You can't access the key, through a wooden bridge.
You'll find some temporary stalls at Zero Point where locals sell, eggs, Maggi noodles Chana masala, etc. You can get coffee/tea (and even beer). But there are no public restroom facilities here.
